Video Workstation
Our team documents our investigations by using static cameras primarily targeted in potential hotspots of activity. The four channel DVR allows real-time monitoring in a passive and unobtrusive fashion, split screened with 21 LED infra-red emitters surrounding the camera eyes.
We’ve had the cameras modified with a simple toggle switch which disables the infrared technology whenever we chose to experiment with other light sources such as external ultra violet wavelengths or full spectrum radiation.
Additionally, Sony Nightshot camcorders with IR extenders are utilized whenever our vigil and question/answer audio sessions are recorded. On numerous occasions, false positives have been documented through confirmation of our video equipment.
Our videographer has the most difficult task with evidence review typically lasting 20 plus hours. Each channel has to be reviewed seperately to ensure thorough analysis.
Audio Workstation
The most abundant evidence of the unexplained seems to be auditory in nature. Employing dedicated microphones in both condenser and dynamic virtually silent formant can be captured.
Phantom power increases the sensitivity of our condenser microphones in the event we encounter aural voice phenomena.
Real-time monitoring in controlled conditions are captured on a professional grade analogue recorder allowing us to separate the xenonormal from the paranormal.
We also use digital voice recorders but have gravitated to higher quality devices to reduce false positives associated with auto gain, poor sampling rate and audio compression. Unfortunately, these features offered in lower grade audio recording devices cannot be turned off.
